Terengganu get first away win of the season


PETALING JAYA: Terengganu have earned a precious away three points.

The Turtles put up a polished display to defeat home Kuala Lumpur 2-0 in the Super League at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Saturday (Aug 10).

Filipino playmaker Manuel Ott got the first goal in the 45th minute when he finished off a cross from wingback Azam Azmi Murad.

The second was an exquisite one when captain and winger Safawi Rasid curled in a superb freekick from 20 metres in the 70th minute.

It is Terengganu’s first away of the season.

The win sees Terengganu moving to third with 14 points from seven matches, Kuala Lumpur are 10th in the league with five points.

Meanwhile, Selangor got their fifth win of the season by beating Kelantan 2-0 at the Petaling Jaya Stadium.

Chilean striker Ronnie Fernandez was the hero when he scored both goals in the 66th and 85th minute.

Selangor remain second in the league with 16 points from eight matches, while Kelantan remain bottom with three from eight games.
