Kedah record a handsome victory against Kelantan

PETALING JAYA: After recording two 1-0 victories in the league, Kedah has finally scored more than a goal in a game this season.

The Canaries led by coach Nafuzi Zain etched a superb 3-0 win against Kelantan at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday (July 12).

Wingback Rizal Ghazali got the first goal in the 10th minute, to be the sole goalscorer in the first-half.

In the second, striker Syafiq Ahmad got the second in the 58th minute, and 15 minutes later, captain and winger Sony Norde got the third in the 73rd minute.

The win sees Kedah going up to fifth with six points from five matches. Before the season started, Kedah were deducted three points due to salary arrears.

In Kuching, home side Kuching City got their first league win of the season by beating Police 2-0 at the State Stadium on Friday (July 12).

Midfielder Daniel Amier Norhisham buried the first goal as early as the second minute and killed off any hopes of a Police comeback when Ghanaian striker Jordan Mintah buried a penalty in the 92nd minute.

Kuching City are now sixth in the league with six points from five games.
