Perak still looking for best line-up for new Super League season

IPOH: Perak head coach, Yusri Che Lah admitted that he is still searching for the best combination to form his team ahead of the new Malaysian League season starting in May.

Yusri said that all his players are been assessed and they particularly focused on their fitness level and performance momentum, which would be crucial in determining the best line-up.

According to him, the warm-up matches against two clubs from Singapore, Geylang International and Abritex Niigata recently, also provided a platform for him to evaluate the players at his disposal.

“We (coaches) are still looking for the best eleven for the upcoming matches, but with several combinations during the warm-up games, I feel we have somewhat of an idea, but not entirely,” said Yusri.

“The match (against Abritex Niigata) saw us lose five key players, including Sunday Afolabi who just suffered an injury.

“Jesper Nyhlom, and three players have been called up to the National Under-23 squad, making it somewhat difficult for me to make assessments.

“However, the players showed great confidence in a hope to secure their place in the starting line-up.”

The match witnessed The Bos Gaurus defeating the Singapore League champions 3-1. In another friendly match prior to this, Perak also succeeded in defeating Geylang International 3-0. — Bernama
