PETALING JAYA: The disappointment on the face of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Amin said it all.
Hamidin said an internal investigation and a police report will be made on a viral poison-pen letter which was sent via email to all the stakeholders, including Youth and Sports Minister and media on Sunday.
The letter raised concerns on the leadership and management of the governing body, funds mismanagement, issues involving the Harimau Malaya squad, and the National Training Centre project.
Hamidin, who attended the 60th FAM Annual Congress on Monday, refuted all allegations.
"We will file a police report regarding the letter because it has created a negative perception, especially among domestic and international football fans and supporters," said Hamidin.
The body will also try to get help from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in finding the source of the email and whether it involved FAM staff, an internal investigation will also be made.
"Guided by the FAM statute, a report on this matter will be sent to the FAM Integrity Committee, an independent body chaired by Tan Sri Dr. Aseh Haji Che Mat. We have representatives from Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the committee," he said.
"FAM are always open to investigation and will cooperate in providing information on the allegations stated in the letter."
