Kedah out of AFC Cup after losing to Indonesia's PSM Makassar


PETALING JAYA: Kedah have bowed out of the AFC Cup after they were beaten 1-2 by Indonesian side PSM Makassar in the Asean zone semi-finals at Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta in Bali, Indonesia on Aug 9 (Tuesday).

Makassar's goals were scored by Yakub Sayuri (31st minute) and Yuran Fernandes (53rd), while Kedah's lone goal was scored by Fayadh Zulkifli (85th).

Makassar held on for the win even with Even Fernandes' sending off in the 59th minute, which triggered an attacking onslaught from Kedah in the last 30 minutes of the game.

Makassar will face Vietnamese club Viettel or Malaysian club Kuala Lumpur in the Asean zone final.
