Football: Selangor ease into FA Cup semi-final with 2-0 win over Sabah


PETALING JAYA: Selangor have booked a spot in the FA Cup semi-final after beating Sabah 2-0 in the quarter-final at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday (July 23).

Their Brazilian attacking duo were the toast, with Henrique scoring in the first minute of the game and Herlison Caion getting the second in the 81st minute.

They will face Terengganu in the semi-final, as the Turtles beat Kuching City 4-1 at the Sultan Mizan Stadium in Gong Badak.

In the other quarter-finals, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) needed a last-minute winner from Bergson Da Silva to beat Melaka 2-1 at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka.

The Southern Tigers will take on Penang in the semi-final, who thrashed Pahang 5-2 after extra time at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan. The game ended 2-2 in regulation time.
