PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur’s new signing Kevin Koubemba is a figure of discontent. The 28-year-old Congolese has scored only two goals after nine matches with the City Boys.
And he’s a hungry man as the Super League resumes tonight after a one-month break. Koubemba wants to get his act right to help KL turn the tables on Terengganu at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium.
“I’ve missed a lot of chances to score after nine matches. I can’t be satisfied with just two goals,” said Koubemba, who has been operating in a winger’s role.
“Maybe it’s because I was too confident. Things like that can happen and sometimes what we plan just doesn’t turn out the way we expect it.”
Koubemba is aware that another import Romel Morales, who is from Colombia, is also under pressure to score more goals.
“We’re in this together and are trying to get our combination right.”
Meanwhile, Terengganu coach Nafuzi Zain revealed that his team may not be in the best of situations to play KL despite being the home team.
Two of the Turtles’ key players Kpah Sherman of Liberia and Manuel Ott of the Philippines, only arrived in Kuala Terengganu on Thursday afternoon after playing a series of international matches.
