Soccer-Lens boost European hopes with rare win at Lille


LILLE, France (Reuters) - RC Lens boosted their European hopes when first-half goals by Przemyslaw Frankowski and Arnaud Kalimuendo earned them a 2-1 win at Lille in the northern derby in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Frank Haise's team leapfrogged French champions Lille into seventh place with 50 points from 32 games. They trail third-placed Stade Rennais by six points and fourth-placed Monaco by three.
