Southern Tigers tame Sabah to keep unbeaten run in Malaysia Cup

PETALING JAYA: Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continued their winning ways in the Malaysia Cup by beating Sabah 2-0 in their Group D match at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu on Friday (Sept 29).

The side coached by Benjamin Mora took the lead in the fifth minute through striker Ahmad Hazwan Bakri.

They doubled the lead in the 13th minute through Argentinian-Iraqi winger Gonzalo Cabrera.

The Southern Tigers won their earlier two matches in the group against Kelantan (2-0) and Petaling Jaya City (1-0). They are now top of the group with nine points.


Group D: Johor Darul Ta'zim 2 Sabah 0, Petaling Jaya City 3 Kelantan 0

Group C: Melaka 2 Kelantan United 1
