Negri reward players and officials for earning promotion

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan state government has given a RM2,000 reward to each player and official of the football team for winning promotion to next season’s Super League.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the reward is a token of appreciation for the squad’s qualification, not just for the Super League, but also for the Malaysia Cup.

“It is fervently hoped that the incentive will spur the team to excel in the forthcoming Super League and Malaysia Cup,” he told reporters yesterday.

Aminuddin, who is also the Negri Sembilan Football Club advisor, said that after the state’s transition to Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan, they hope to re-open the stadium to football fans.

Negri are currently leading the Premier League on 38 points followed by Sarawak United on 37 points.

The champion of the Premier League will be decided on Sept 21 when Negri take on Police while Sarawak United play Johor Darul Ta’zim II. — Bernama
