PETALING JAYA: It was Bergson Da Silva's show at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium after the Brazilian scored a hattrick to help league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim trounce Perak 5-0 in the Super League on Saturday (July 31).
The 30-year-old started the ball rolling in the 20th minute by beating three defenders to slot the ball past Perak goalkeeper Azri Ghani.
His second came in the 47th minute when he converted a pass from winger Safawi Rasid.
In the 59th minute, Da Silva nicked his third successive goal off a diagonal pass from rightback Matt Davies.
Winger Gonzalo Cabrera scored the other goals in the 83rd and 86th minutes.
JDT are comfortably perched at top of the league standings with 39 points while Perak are in the relegation zone at 11th with 13 points.
