South Korean side make exhausted JDT pay the price for ineffective defence

Youthful exuberance: JDT’s Arif Aiman Hanapi tries to dribble past Pohang Steelers captain Kang Sang-woo during their match.

PETALING JAYA: South Korea’s Pohang Steelers made Malaysian side Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) pay for their inept defensive play with a four-goal thrashing in the AFC Champions League match at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Monday.

JDT did well to draw first blood in the 17th minute of the Group G match but thereafter it was Pohang all the way as they wrested control to earn and scored three penalties plus a goal in open play to easily emerged 4-1 victors.
