Safawi on the double

Slick move: Safawi Rasid (right) scoring the first goal for Malaysia against Indonesia and then reeling off in celebration at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil last night.

BUKIT JALIL: Winger Safawi Rasid let his left foot do the talking, scoring once from a free-kick and again from open play to send Indonesia to a second defeat at the hands of Malaysia in their 2022 World Cup-2023 Asia Cup Group G qualifier at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

The Terengganu local opened the scoring in the 30th minute from a free-kick. The second was a scintillating goal as he robbed a defender, turned him and then slammed into the far corner from inside the box in the 73rd minute.
