‘Oldie’ Irfan gets another bite after loss in 2017 Games

Still needed: Irfan Zakaria (right) has been named as one of the two overaged players for the Under-23 football team to the forthcoming Philippines SEA Games.

PETALING JAYA: Centreback Irfan Zakaria walked out with his head hung low after the 2017 SEA Games final.

As one of the defenders on that night, the then 22-year-old looked helplessly on when goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli accidentally punched the ball into his own net from a corner to give Thailand a 1-0 win at the Shah Alam Stadium.
