PETALING JAYA: Perak coach Mehmet Durakovic is elated with the form of his two new Brazilian signings – Ronaldo Silva and Careca.
Striker Ronaldo, 28, has scored three goals in two matches while attacking midfielder Careca, 23, has scored two in his last two games.
Ronaldo and Careca were replacements for compatriots Gilmar Filho and Wander Luiz.
“It is not easy to come all the way from Brazil and make an instant impact with the team. They’ve only been here for a week and a half and I’ve been impressed with what I have seen,” said Durakovic.
“They are both young, and I expect them to have a bright future in the club. Just like any other Brazilians, they are technically sound and can score goals too.
Another signing Hussein El Dor also impressed in the match against Pahang but Durakovic said the former Lebanese Under-20 international needs time to gel with the team.
With eight more matches left in the Super League Durakovic hopes to help Perak finish in the top five in this season’s Super League standings.
“We lead in most matches, but due to individual errors, it cost us points. This is football, and we have to accept that it happens.
“In the next few games, we have to give 100% commitment and make sure we never to give up. This must be our attitude for the next few games,” he said.
