PETALING JAYA: "You either came from the future, or that was just one heck of a prediction!"
This was the general consensus of how citizens of the world reacted to Malaysian Timmy Chin's prediction of the recent Champions League clash between Manchester United and Paris St Germain on Wednesday (March 6).
PSG were 2-0 up in the first leg of the gargantuan clash in Manchester, with United due to play PSG at Le Parc des Princes in France for the second.
"Honestly got a good feeling about this. Probably either we get totally hammered or we really put on a show. Lukaku with 2. Psg comes back with 1 and rashford fires home 92mins into injury time!" Chin Tweeted, hoping for a shocker.
Sure enough, Chin was almost right on the spot. United hit back with two goals from Lukaku in the first half, and PSG managed to grab one to unsettle United fans' nerves before their number 10 Marcus Rashford secured the win in dramatic circumstances in the 94th minute.
Chin's prediction prompted several replies from United players, one of them being full-back Ashley Young.
"Please tell me you put that bet on?! As a well done I’m gonna send you a signed shirt! But, if you predict the score correctly this Sunday (against Arsenal), I’ll get the whole squad to sign it. What do you reckon?! Deal?!" Young replied.
It is unsure whether or not Young kept his end of the deal, but Chin became a temporary footballing hero among United fans.
Users on Twitter - mostly United fans - had asked Chin to predict the rest of the season, in hopes that they would all come to life.
Some even asked for lottery predictions.
"Can I have Saturdays lottery numbers please," Twitter user Jamie Edwards wrote.
"Please what's the prediction for Sunday's game, lemme stake my life savings on it," said Twitter user Jude Houdini.
