JOHOR BARU: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) recorded their second win in the 2019 Malaysian Super League season after demolishing Kuala Lumpur 4-1 at Larkin Stadium here.

Goals from Gonzalo Cabrera in the 45th minute, Syafiq Ahmad in the 51st, Diogo Santo in the 59th, and Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq in the 88th ensured the Southern Tigers got the maximum three points.

The five-time Malaysian Super League winner took the lead deep in injury time in the first half when Cabrera converted a penalty kick after Muhammad Safawi Rasid was brought down in the penalty box.

Syafiq then doubled his side’s lead when he tapped the ball into the visitor’s net in the 51st minute from a Corbin Ong cross to make it 2-0.

Santo then put the game beyond Kuala Lumpur’s reach when he kicked the ball into the net from a corner kick in the 59th minute.

Kuala Lumpur managed to pull a goal back when Sylvano Comvalius’s powerful shot in the 76th minute went into JDT’s goal to make it 3-1.

Mohd Azrif then completed the score line when his shot beat Kuala Lumpur goalkeeper Mohd Sharbinee Alwee for a 4-1 win.
