BELGRADE (Reuters) - Serbia have stripped long-serving Branislav Ivanovic of the captaincy and handed it to fellow defender Aleksandar Kolarov as they start the build-up to the World Cup in Russia with two friendlies, coach Mladen Krstajic said on Monday.

"Kolarov, the new captain, and (Nemanja) Matic, his deputy, have the power to follow in Ivanovic's footsteps," Krstajic told a news conference ahead of warm-up games with Morocco on Friday and Nigeria on March 27.
