(Reuters) - Southampton's recent takeover has not altered the Premier League club's strategy of trying to hold on to their best players, chairman Ralph Krueger has said, while reiterating that defender Virgil van Dijk will not be sold in this window.

Chinese businessman Jisheng Gao purchased an 80 percent stake in the club for around 210 million pounds this week and Krueger said the sale would not have any immediate impact on the club's business strategy.
