PETALING JAYA: Selangor are eager to lay their hands back on the Sultans’ Gold Cup after nearly 20 years.
Team manager Mohd Nizam Hashim said the Selangor Malays Football Association are bent on ending their title drought since they last emerged champions in 1997.
“We are looking for new talents from Selangor and anyone who is prepared to work hard for the team to achieve our goal,” said Nizam.
Nizam said those who are up for the challenge should attend the open selection trials, which will be held at the Sultan Sulaiman Football Club in Kampung Baru on Saturday. The sessions will start from 7.30am to 1pm.
Selangor are drawn in Group B with defending champions Negri Sembilan, Perak and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). The Sultans’ Gold Cup will kick-off on Nov 4.
