KOTA BARU: Kelantan Football Association president Tan Sri Annuar Musa has called for a complete revamp of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
The former FAM deputy president wants Johor Crown Prince (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the owner of the Johor Darul Ta’zim team, to be appointed as the new president.
Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah is the FAM president. His deputies are Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah (Kelantan FA) and Datuk Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad (Selangor FA).
“I’m very sure that the football landscape can change if the present committee members resign and a new committee, headed by Tunku Ismail, is set up,” said Annuar, who added that the FAM did not even have a blueprint to bring the game to new heights.
“For instance, the Japan Football Association had a 50-year plan ... just look at where they are now,” he told reporters at the closing of the Mesra Siswa Perdana at SMK Kodak here on Tuesday.
