KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia emerged runners-up in the inaugural Commonwealth Cup Futsal Championship after losing 1-0 to Australia in Wellington, New Zealand.
Wade Giovenali was the hero for Australia, scoring the winner in the 32nd minute. Australia secured the title after collecting the maximum nine points in the four-nation round-robin tournament. Malaysia were second with six points followed by New Zealand (three points) and winless Vanuatu.
