LONDON (Reuters) - Newcastle United's under-fire manager John Carver met club officials to discuss his side's eight-game Premier League losing streak on Monday with a statement saying the only focus was on the club's top flight survival.

Saturday's 3-0 defeat by Leicester City, in which Newcastle had two players sent off, provoked passionate comments from Carver who suggested Mike Williamson had got himself red-carded deliberately.
