PETALING JAYA: Frenz United’s two premier tournaments – Asia Champions Trophy (ACT) and Frenz International Cup (FIC) will be held in Malacca annually following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) and Frenz United Football Club (FUFC).

The MoU, which was signed by MUSA deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi and FUFC president Datuk Noor Ihsan Abdul Hamid on Monday will also see Malacca’s famous Hang Tuah Stadium becoming the home ground for FUFC.

Malacca chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron who witnessed the MoU signing ceremony said that the collaboration will cover the grassroots development at the state.

“It is an honour for Malacca to host these elite international football tournaments for the first time. We have world-class facilities and organisational abilities which give FUFC the confidence in bringing their tournaments here,” said Idris who is also MUSA president

“Today marks an important milestone in the history of FUFC as this MoU seals the platform for greater cooperation aimed at promoting the development of football in Malacca,” said Noor Ihsan.

“There are a total of 24 international clubs from across Asia, Europe and South Africa competing in the ACT and FIC tournaments yearly. We also have plans to improve the game at school level by introducing coaching clinics,” he added.
