T-Team, Kedah snatch victories in Premier League action


PETALING JAYA: T-Team continue their superb form in the Premier League with a fifth straight win, defeating UiTM FC 2-0 at the Sultan Ismail Stadium in Kuala Terengganu.

Hotshot Farhod Tadjiev of Uzbekistan found the net in the eighth minute to give the home side the lead and his 12th goal of the season in all competitions.

Farhod’s compatriot scored in the 48th minute to seal the win.

Kedah also kept up their good form with a third consecutive win by defeating Negri Sembilan 2-1 at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar.

Nigerian Chidi Edeh gave the Red Hawks the lead in the 13th minute but the visitors levelled through Haitian midfielder Jean Marc Alexandre (75th minute).

Red Hawks Albanian midfielder Liridon Krasniqi sealed three points for the home side in the 83rd minute.

At the Merdeka Stadium, Kuala Lumpur were held to a 1-1 draw against Johor Darul Ta’zim II.

Hattaphon Bun An scored for the home side in the 18th minute before a disastrous own goal by defender Muhd Zameer Zainun leveled the score in the 28th minute.

In Kota Kinabalu, Penang fell to their first defeat in the Premier League with a 1-0 loss to Sabah at the Likas Stadium.

In-form Libyan forward Eamon Zayed tapped in for his fifth goal in four matches in the 27th minute after receiving a cross from Australian Joel Chianase.

At the Darul Makmur Stadium, Montenegrin Milan Purovic was the hero with a late goal five minutes into stoppage time of the second half to give Kuantan a 1-0 win over basement side SPA Putrajaya.

While in Petaling Jaya, PKNS FC and DRB-Hicom played to a goalless draw at the MBPJ Stadium.
