MADRID (Reuters) - Barcelona have decided to take their appeal against Lionel Messi's yellow card for time wasting after he was apparently hit on the head by a plastic bottle in Sunday's La Liga game at Valencia to the next level.

Barca's initial appeal was rejected by the Spanish football federation's (RFEF) competition committee on Wednesday and the club responded by saying they would lodge a second challenge with a higher committee.
