MADRID (Reuters) - Failure to take their chances in the first half scuppered Atletico Madrid in their 3-2 reverse at Olympiakos Piraeus in Tuesday's Champions League Group A opener, according to Atletico coach Diego Simeone.

Last year's runners-up to city rivals Real Madrid, Atletico were unable to recover after conceding two first-half goals as their latest campaign in Europe's elite club competition got off to a disappointing start.
