KANGAR: Centreback Mohamad Qhairil Azwan Mohd Asri was the hero for Perlis in their 2-1 win over Negri Sembilan after his winning goal deep into extra-time dumped Negri out of the quarter-finals of the Sukma football competition at the UiTM Stadium.
On Friday, Negri raced to a 1-0 lead via Mohd Izzudin Zainuddin’s goal (10th minute) before the hosts came back with goals from Mohd Ikmal Ibrahim (46th) and Qhairil (110th).
