Dollah rues Police lack of discipline

PETALING JAYA: Police want to regain their winning form after their last two matches in the Premier League ended in a draw.

The two matches against Felda United (3-3) and Negri Sembilan (2-2) have cost them valuable points, which saw them slip to second spot in the 12-team standings behind new leaders Penang.

Police coach Dollah Salleh said they cannot afford any slip-up when they face Kedah at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday.

“I have been drumming into my players the importance of discipline. We could have won against Felda and Negri but we blew it because of complacency. Our opponents took advantage of that,” said a disappointed Dollah on Thursday.

Police have had a glorious start to the season with six straight wins but have now paid the price for the two draws.

Leaders Penang have 22 points while Police, with a game in hand, are two points behind in second spot.

Dollah won’t have his best line-up against Kedah. The team will be without both their regular centre-backs Rafael de Souza of Brazil and Mohd Afif Amiruddin, who are both serving a one-match supension.

Police will be counting on their prized striker Ali Ashfaq of Maldives to lead the charge for goals.
