Frenz B go down in first leg semi


PETALING JAYA: Chonburi FC of Thailand have the early advantage in the Asean Champions Trophy Under-15 football semi-finals when they edged Frenz United Malaysia B 2-1 in the first-leg match at the Chonburi Stadium on Saturday.

The Malaysians now have an uphill task against the Thais in the return-leg at the Janda Baik Stadium in Pahang on Wednesday.

The Thais led through Samart Authairatsamee’s goal in the 13th minute before Muhamad Ad Deen equalised in the 23rd minute. 

Saharat Sontisawat nailed the winner for the Thai outfit in the 72nd minute.

In the other semi-final, Frenz United Indonesia will host Frenz United Malaysia A in the first-leg tie at Stadium Jalak Harupat in Bandung on Sunday (4.30pm).

The final will be on Aug 28 (first-leg) and Sept 1 (return leg).
