SEA Games: Kimberly brings cheer in pool with first diving gold

PHNOM PENH: Kimberly Bong (pic) snatched the first diving gold medal for Malaysia after winning the women's 3m springboard competition at Morodok Aquatic Centre on Monday (May 8).

The Sarawakian amassed 276.30 points in the five-dive competition.

Indonesia's Gladies Lariesa Garina took silver with 273.10 points.

Malaysia also took the bronze through Ong Ker Ying, who finished with 248.70 points.

At the last SEA Games in Hanoi last year, Malaysia swept all eight diving gold medals at stake but only four events are contested in Phnom Penh this time - all individual events.
