Syafiq out to inspire juniors apart from defending 3m springboard title


Up for the challenge: Mohd Syafiq Puteh and fellow Birmingham Commonwealth Games silver medallist Gabriel Gilbert Daim will compete in the men’s 3m springboard individual in the SEA Games.

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Syafiq Puteh has a double mission to fulfil at the Cambodia SEA Games in May.

The Perak-born diver is not just gunning to defend the men’s 3m springboard title for Malaysia but can also act as an inspiring figure to his younger teammates who will also be shouldering the challenge in the diving competition in Phnom Penh from May 5-17.
