Determined Yiwei hopes he won’t muff opportunity to earn ticket to the Olympics

In with a chance: Chew Yiwei just needs to finish in the top 18 in the 3m springboard individual event to qualify for the Olympics.

PETALING JAYA: Chew Yiwei is hoping that history does not repeat itself when he makes the plunge in the men’s 3m springboard individual event at the Diving World Cup starting in Tokyo tomorrow.

The 25-year-old is the only member of the elite diving team yet to compete on the Olympics stage and he knows that he cannot afford to muff up any of the six dives in the preliminary round to realise his mission.
