PETALING JAYA: Wendy Ng Yan Yee has qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after she reached the women's 3m springboard final at the World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
Ng amassed 288.60 points from five dives to finish 10th in the semi-finals.
The top 12 finishers in the semi-final field of 18 divers qualify for the final, which will take place on Friday (July 19) night.
The 12 finalists are assured of slots at the Tokyo Olympics in August next year.
It will be the third straight Olympic appearance for Ng, who joins Pandelela Rinong as the two divers who made the cut for the individual events.
Ng reached the semi-finals after finishing 12th (279.30) in the preliminaries earlier on Thursday (July 18).
Nur Dhabitah Sabri, who took bronze in the Diving World Series final leg in London, failed to make the cut for the semis after finishing 25th (249.05).
Pandelela had earlier finished an impressive fifth in the women's 10m platform final with 349.25 points.
