Olympic-bound cyclist breaks into top 10 of world ranking

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri (pic) secured a timely boost ahead of her arrival on the Olympic stage in Paris after breaking into the top 10 rankings in the women’s elite 500m time trial event for the first time.

The 20-year-old is ranked seventh in the event in the latest track cycling world rankings on 865 points and also the highest ranked Asian. China’s Bao Shanju is ranked 12th on 650 points.
