‘The Terminator’ wins applause for bravery en route to bronze

Powering through: Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom reacts in joy after crossing the finish line during the keirin final.

NILAI: Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom can now be called “The Terminator” if his courageous and unbelievable brave effort to contribute a medal for Malaysia in the Asian Championships in Nilai is anything to go by.

The 27-year-old was caught in a high speed crash in the semi-finals involving four other riders but instead of lying on the ground in pain, he managed to re-mount his bike minus its saddle and staggered to the finish line to book his spot in the final.
