Cyclists hope to qualify for Olympics team sprint for first time since 2008


PETALING JAYA: One year to go and Malaysia are punching above their weight in the Olympic Games track cycling qualifying campaign.

Malaysia are currently positioned an impressive second with 1,440 points behind Holland (1,610) in the Olympics rankings for men’s keirin and ahead of established nations like Germany, Australia and France, thanks to podium finishes from Azizulhasni Awang and Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom in the Track Nations Cup series.
