Aisyah smashes national mark en route to victory

RIDER Nor Aisyah Munirah Chek Ramli was only entered at the last minute by Terengganu but she became the toast of the team after a smashing show on the penultimate day of the cycling competition at the National Velodrome.

The 21-year-old broke the national record held by her idol Nur Aisyah Mohd Zubir when she stopped the clock at 3:47.551 in her qualifying run to head into the medal rounds as the fastest qualifier of the 3km individual pursuit event in Nilai yesterday.
