PETALING JAYA: Team Sapura Cycling’s Mohd Nur Aiman Rosli made it a hattrick of wins by bagging the men’s elite time trial gold medal in the National Championships in Manong, Perak.

Aiman completed the 36.8km contest in 47:33.144 to successfully retain his men’s elite individual time trial title.

The 23-year-old also won in the 2020 edition.

There was double joy for Team Sapura Cycling as Mohd Shaiful Adlan Shukri took second place in 47:58.94.

Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team (TSG) rider Mohd Nur Aiman Zariff, the winner of the road race event at the Vietnam SEA Games last month, placed third in 48:33.258.

Team manager Sayuti Zahir described it as a good start for the team in the three-day national meet.

“It’s a good achievement for Aiman to make it three in a row. I believe this will give him the best motivation to stake his claim for a place in the Cambodia SEA Games next year,” said Sayuti.

“It will also give a positive impact on our riders to fight for glory in the road race tomorrow, especially as we are the defending champions.”

Mohd Saari Amri Abdul Rasim won the men’s elite road race for Team Sapura Cycling last year.

Johor cyclist Siti Nur Adibah Akma Mohd Fuad won the women’s elite individual time trial in 55:31.293.
