Cycling-Pidcock aims for road glory after mountain bike gold

LONDON (Reuters) - Olympic mountain bike champion Tom Pidcock will try to follow his Tokyo gold medal with a rainbow jersey after being named in Britain's road world championships squad on Monday.

The Ineos Grenadiers rider was unstoppable in Izu as he claimed the mountain bike title in August and has been tipped for major honours on the road as well having recently made his Grand Tour debut in the Vuelta de Espana.
