LONDON (Reuters) - Three-time world champion Peter Sagan has withdrawn from the Olympic road race after needing surgery following an injury sustained at the Tour de France, the Slovakian Olympic Committee confirmed on Tuesday.
"Peter Sagan will not participate in Games XXXII due to health reasons. Lukas Kubis will replace him in the nomination," a statement said on the organisation's website.
