PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s track cycling rising star Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom (pic) failed to end the year with a bang, no thanks to a flu infection at the Track World Cup in Brisbane.
The 24-year-old Shah Firdaus, who’s recovering from a bout of flu, clocked 9.824 in the qualifying round at the Anna Meares Velodrome in Brisbane to reach the round of 16 but lost to former European champion Pavel Yakushevskiy of Russia yesterday.
