Fatehah faces tough task to qualify for third Olympics

Work cut out for her: Fatehah Mustapa will miss the Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland, end of next month.

PETALING JAYA: Track cyclist Fatehah Mustapa’s hopes of making a third Olympic appearance in Tokyo is fading after she failed to get on the podium in her pet event – the keirin – at the Asian Cycling Championships in Jakarta.

Failing to do so saw Fatehah dropping from 23rd to 59th spot in the latest world rankings for women’s keirin yesterday, and as a result she will miss the Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland, end of next month.
