INNSBRUCK, Austria (Reuters) - Spaniard Alejandro Valverde sprinted to a dramatic victory in the men's road race at the UCI World Championships in Austria on Sunday to finally claim an elusive first title ahead of Frenchman Romain Bardet and Canada's Michael Woods.

Valverde, who had previously finished on the podium a record six times without winning, edged clear of a four-way sprint for the title to take the rainbow jersey.
