KORAT (Thailand): Ahmad Najib Ismail squandered a golden chance to claim a medal for Malaysia in the boys’ junior 73.3km road race at the Asian Cycling Championships.
The 17-year-old managed to stay with the leading pack throughout the nine-lap race on Tuesday night, but he was pipped by his rivals 500m before the finish line. The Terengganu junior eventually finished sixth out of 53 starters.
