NANJING China (Reuters) - Emulating British cycling success on the Olympic stage will not come cheap but China has the potential to be a major player in the sport if it commits the proper investment, International Cycling Union (UCI) president Brian Cookson said on Monday.

Cookson, who served as president of British Cycling from 1997 to 2013, said China had already seen some success in the sport but those results had come about more by accident than any grand plan.
