A hard lesson for cyclist Mohd Firdaus at world juniors


Mohd Firdaus Mohd Zonis was relegated to last place in his semi-final heats because of lane violation in the keirin event at the World Junior Track meet in South Korea on Saturday.

PETALING JAYA: Keirin racing could be a cruel game sometimes and youngster Mohd Firdaus Mohd Zonis learned it the hard way at the Track Junior World Championships in South Korea.

The reigning Asian junior champion blazed his way into the semi-finals on Saturday at the Gwangmyeong velodrome after winning the first round heat. But in the semi-finals, bad luck struck the 18-year-old.
