KOLKATA, India (Reuters) -South Africa were all out for 159 in their first innings against India on day one of the opening test at Eden Gardens on Friday after electing to bat.

Opener Aiden Markram's 31 was the highest score in South Africa's innings with several batters failing to convert their starts into big knocks.

Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the India bowlers claiming 5-27 while fellow seamer Mohammed Siraj and spinner Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets apiece.
