Nirun spearheads the Asean charge

THAILAND’S Nirun Sae-Ueng won the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour’s Maybank ADT Championship in a playoff from hometown favourite Gavin Green and secured a spot in next season’s European Tour-sanctioned Maybank Championship, while Genevieve Ling won the women’s title.

The 24-year-old Thai qualified for the US$3mil event, co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour, along with compatriots Atiruj Winaicharoenchai and Suttijet Kooratanapisan, Singaporeans Choo Tze Huang and Quincy Quek, and Indonesia’s George Gandranata.
