THE passing of football legend Datuk M. Chandran on Sept 28 was a huge loss for Malaysian football and to those who knew him.

As an accomplished centre-back, the late Chandran, who captained Selangor and Malaysia on numerous occasions, was respected by all those connected to the sport.
